Everyone hates fleas, ticks, and lice. Your dog hates it and so do you. So before the flea season starts bugging your beloved pet, be prepared with flea control.

How to get rid of fleas? You can use trusted products with specially formulated ingredient. Some of which includes names which may already be familiar to you like Advantage, Advantix, and Frontline. Among these three, we will focus more on Advantage.

Advantage flea control product is probably something you have already come across with. If not, you should know that it’s Imidacloprid content effectively kills fleas and even flea larvae even after only one application per month. You can use it for puppies as young as seven weeks.

But can Advantage be used on pregnant dog? It is best to consult your veterinarian. Since it is trusted even for young puppies, it may not be harmful to a pregnant dog as well.

If you are uncomfortable with the idea though, homemade flea remedies can also be used. You can try boric acid or baking soda diluted in water. The solution may be applied to your pet once a week using dry cloth.

Since summer and spring is yet to arrive, prevention is still the best cure. Keep your pet and everything it uses clean to prevent the possible growth of fleas.
